YOU DON'T MESS WITH ME, BITCH!

posted Thursday, 30 October 2003

if you have a reason to be bitchy, i have every reason to be bitchy too, you know. i've been through a lot of shit here in LTO but you are the last straw...

people reading my blog are now familiar with what i've gone through. yesterday was the culmination of every moment i've wasted there.

i had been waiting for the release of my receipt (which was supposedly released at the moment i paid the fees two days ago, right?) for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon. the smelly and rowdy mob is now getting pissed off with the license division as they were like turtles on a marathon. some had been trying to get their license since monday. i was not waiting for my license (i figured that it would be impossible due to the volume of angry people). i merely wanted to get my receipt, for goodness' sake!

anyway, we (the mob) had to get closer to the window (window i) because we couldn't hear our names being called as there was no microphone or megaphone plus we are separated from the clerks by a big thick glass wall. shouting our names was futile.

i was asking (rather begging for) my receipt so at least i have some proof that i've already paid and i can claim my license in the future (when will that be, i don't know). gaddamit! i was begging for my receipt and they couldn't give that damned paper. the chances of it being lost again there is 99.99%, considering the incompetence of that agency. i've been haunting the premises for 4 days now and i don't have any intention of prolonging it. it's bad enough that i've been missing from our office for a couple of days in a row.

to make a long narration short, this bitch shouted as us, "Lumayo kayo diyan at kung hindi kayo umupo, hindi ko ipo-process lisensya nyo!!!"

that got me. that bitch! where would we sit, aber? in the first place, she shouldn't have shouted at us (in a most offensive way) like we were dogs being driven away. second, we couldn't hear them so we needed to get closer. third, humanity wouldn't be swarming there had their service been at least 10 kph. people who have paid days ago --- or months ago --- wouldn't be crowding there everyday.

"OK! Fine!" i said loudly. then she shouted expletives and threats at me. i was so incensed!!! out of anger i went to their door and cried to a kind-looking old man (a licensing staff too) and was towering over his table and said, "Manong, hindi ako sinisigawan. hindi dapat ako sinisigawan! i've been here since friday and i wouldn't be here in this situation had the LTO taken good care of its records! hindi ako sinisigawan nang ganon lang!" found myself crying out of anger and frustration. didn't care if i made a scene.

the kind man got my name and went inside another room and --- voila! there was my receipt AND id card! the old man said, "pasensya ka na sa asal ng mga tao doon ha...". i was overcome with gratitude. finally it was over.

but then, why was i spending days and hours there when in 5 minutes i can get everything? why are the people at that window giving us a hard time and made the people come back everyday for months? found out from somebody that LTO employees' tactic was they will make you so frustrated that you will be forced to slip money into their eager hands.

i was so angry (still am) that i went to the LTO main building and asked the people at the help desk where their complaints center was. they asked why. "eh ang babastos ng mga tao sa licensing sa north!" they told me to go to the assistant secretary's office. now they're going to taste hell!

i was able to talk to somebody there, their lawyer, as i was guided to the legal section. i related everything and he made notes. he then called up the head of the licensing division and related to him/her what the problem was. the lawyer assured me that they would sound the alarm on the licensing division and i could file a formal complaint against the erring employees of that damned division. hell i will! i was so angry that i told him that i would be filing a complaint also at the office of the president through the office of rigoberto tiglao.

when i came downstairs, the people at the help desk asked me if everything was ok. gave a thumbs-up sign. they said, "tama yan miss. dapat turuan ng leksyon yung mga lintek na yun dun!"

called up my sister (potpot and ros you know who that is) and related it to her. she said that i should file a formal complaint immediately and she would personally follow it up with her boss.

it's not that i'm throwing my weight around. for days i've been holding my temper and been sweet in dealing with people and i've only been reklamador in my blog. but yesterday my patience snapped and i was nearing hysteria.

now am contemplating if i would still want to go through all this administrative complaint. as my bf said it would be a bloody battle.

say what? (7)

eBAY

posted Wednesday, 29 October 2003

hahaha! my bf and i have already figured out how we could receive payments through credit card without paypal (as this service is not available to the philippines). because of our discovery and it is already tried and tested...voila! am already thinking of the garbage that we have at home and turn it into gold.

the nintendo entertainment system (NES) with the powerpad and the gun that has been lying dormant at home costs about $81 and still rising on eBay. my greek barbie (barbies of the world) was about $40 and still rising...golly, and to think that these stuff are just gathering dust on top of my cabinet...

should act now since christmas is just around the corner. i need extra cash. = )

you could use bidpay (visit bidpay.com) as this is a company owned by western union. madali transactions dito kasi sangkatutak ang western union dito. philippine sellers use this. main clients ng bidpay is ebay bidders so madali. buyers (esp. US buyers are tamad) can pay through their credit cards then western union would send you the money order through your mailing address. then you could encash or deposit this in western union centers and banks (from what i understand). they charge you $5 per transaction if you're gonna convert it into the local currency. haven't tried it yet pero if i would get the cash in dollars, i think no charge. have to explore this further though.

you also have the option to have a cheque sent straight to your bank account although there is a $5 transaction fee.

registration is free for sellers. for buyers, all they need to do is click on the link provided on the page of the item they're bidding on then type their credit card number then voila! an email will be sent to the seller that the buyer has already sent the payment to bidpay. you as a seller can track the payments so you are assured that the buyer has already paid before sending your item abroad.

the big problem nga lang is the speed of delivery at our post office. that's why have it sent through registered mail. makakarating naman ata kahit ordinary mail (since i've been sending and receiving mails and packages abroad and they do arrive naman 1 or two weeks) . kung atat ka na, you pay an extra fee.

potpot: in order for you to register at ebay as a seller, you have to have a credit card in your name and the address corresponds to your billing address (because ebay deducts fees for every item that you sell). yun ang inaasikaso namin ni fafa kasi ala pa siyang credit card. nde pwede yung sa akin kasi wala pa akong record sa ebay kaya mejo mahirap magbenta dun na walang maganda pang record or good feedback. buyers are gonna ignore you kasi they need the assurance na matino kang seller. eh si fafa 100% rating siya sa ebay kaya siya ang kelangan mag-sell. pag-usapan na lang natin kung paano ka makakaraket dito.

if you get your credit card, mas madaling makapa-process ng money order pag sarli mong account sa ebay ang gagamitin mo kasi sa yo na didiretso ang bayad. whereas kung kay fafa pa, nakuuuuuuuu aabutin ka ng sampu-sampu bago mo makuha pera mo kasi mp3 cd pa nga lang eh ilang buwan na sa kanya.

THE SOAP OPERA THAT IS THE PHILIPPINES

posted Tuesday, 28 October 2003

those congressmen must be burned at the stake. period. it seems like they won't budge --- ever. if you have danding's money to back you up, why not? these idiots would sell their soul and the country just for a couple of dirty money.

--------------

my LTO drug test is a big fluke
. it's big business, these LTO-accredited clinics. they tested my vision by letting me read letters as large as my hands then declare my vision to be 20/20. then they got my urine sample then in 20 minutes, i was declared drug-free. my last drug test was administered by the UP health service (for employment reasons) and the results had to be released only after 24 hours since the lab tests in that hospital involved a lot of lab work. then these drug testing centers charge P350 for a piece of paper!

the whole license application (tests and stuff) is a huge farce. no wonder there are blind drivers and EDSA is teeming with incompetent bastards.

i say let's do away with this licensing thing. it's the same anyway.

---------------

practical exam involves making the gawdawful onwer-type jeep go forward and reverse. it's like taking the vehicle out of the garage. backing out of our driveway is a lot more complicated than this.

this license renewal has eaten up 3 days of my life. what a way to waste precious time.

---------------

honestly, am getting tired of this shit about the impeachment raps (am tired of those noisy tongressmen). seems like these bastards won't budge. this country is going down the drain. i just pray to God to be kind to people like us, who toil honsetly and make a decent living albeit in poverty, to spare us when the Philippines is already flattened out.

hmmm...better yet, i'd move to jamaica.

----------------

i was harassed by a skirt-chasing dirty guy there at LTO while waiting for the release of my license (more about that later). he couldn't take a hint! he has been asking me stupid and pointless questions like, "is the exam like driving a toyota?" grrrrrrrrr! "unless you're driving a right-hand automatic tractor (if there's such a thing), basically that beat-up jeep is the same as the rest of the vehicle population here in this country of perverts like you", i almost yelled. inirapan ko na lang siya. but then he prodded me with --- again --- stupid and pointless questions just to make me talk to him. this guy was trying to hit on me! i was completely ignoring him and yet he kept on bugging me. i was tempted to call the security guy but fortunately the woman cashier was already giving him dirty looks and left me alone.

i hate it when guys do that! that's why when i get on the bus, i sleep immediately or feign sleep so that these KSP guys would leave me alone. why can't they mind their own business? there was this lame pick-up line i encountered, "Have i seen you before?" i quickly transferred to another seat as far away from this creepy guy. best advice on times like these on the bus? put on your earphones or sleep.

-------------

as for the claiming of mmy license, i was waiting for the guy at the releasing section to call my name all afternoon. just when i had already spent half of my sane (but sanity slowly slipping away) afternoon practically under his nose, he said (rather too late when i was about to scream and demand for prozac) that i return the next day as the names he was announcing were the ones who have paid the fees early pa this morning. which means it will take them another 24 hours to have my name printed on a piece of paper. so why didn't they tell me sooner?! i was being harassed by a deranged guy and surrounded by scary-looking guys waiting for their licenses as well the whole afternoon...aaaaaaarggggggggghhhhhh!

wonderful.

LTO SAGA CONTINUES

posted Monday, 27 October 2003

seems like things are spiffy there at LTO when i got there at 8 am. Unusual maybe, even for a monday morning. it looks like they've also changed the window numbers overnight (with new signs). The window that was supposed to release my certificate of license/records-whatever was window 6 last friday --- but today it suddenly became window 10. they also have k-9 units sniffing the bushes. cops in unusually snappy uniforms (but still with protruding bellies) were patrolling the area. i wonder why.

then i saw a banner being raised: WELCOME PRESIDENT MACAPAGAL-ARROYO. well that figures.

unfortunately window 10 was not able to release my documents this morning and i have to come back again at 2 pm to get that stupid certification and then schedule my exam and pay fees and stuff. darn. my face is going to get familiar in LTO. AM RUNNING OUT OF PATIENCE!

it would be wonderful to do my shooting spree at LTO when GMA is there. i can see the headlines:

DRIVER'S LICENSE ^&*%%#%$ PART II

posted Sunday, 26 October 2003

after all the brouhaha i went through LTO last friday, the verdict was i have to take the exam AGAIN. since my last record at LTO was in 2000, that means technically, my license has been expired the last three years. they said they couldn't do magic on my supposedly non-existent license (from 2000-2003) so i have to take the exam to my make my 1998-2000 records active again.

plus i have to pay the penalty charges because of a supposedly expired license. three years of penalty, take note!

for me to take the exam tomorrow, i had paid for an affidavit of loss and submitted to window 6 to claim that i have lost my 1998-2000 license (that's why my license expired for that long daw). i will claim my certificate that they are allowing me to take that stupid exam. then i will take the written and practical exam. unfortunately for me, i have to rent a car tomorrow for the practical exam (since the vehicle i'm driving is in laguna) so that means i have to shell out an undetermined amount for me to take that )&@#$^$&%*& exam.

and it will take me another whole day at LTO.

if only i didn't need to have that license desperately --- egad! --- i wouldn't have to go through shit.

if tomorrow i won't get my license, expect the newspaper headlines the following day:

GIRL RUNS AMOK AT LTO

why are you taking the exam again?

as far as i remember, you dont need to.

a friend of mine had his license expired for three years as well and he wasnt asked to retake anything - just pay the penalty.

if the reason for retaking the exam is because they cant find your records-that would mean they want you to retake for the purpose of having a new one (take note that without your license number they wont have any reference to it).thus, you dont need to pay the penalty.

another thing, they should not have any trouble locating your file.since they have your name anyway, not your lic# alone.

i had a license when i was 13 - forged my birth records.i had that license revoked when i was 18 so i could have a clean slate of records (i didnt have a license for one year).but i had a kept secret that i had another license when i was 14 because i lost my first license and to get away with the filing of affidavits,a friend voluteered to help me get a new one -which was the one i had revoked.

now when i was getting my new, legal license, they cam across the file of my lost license 5 years ago!

if they can find my record 5 years ago without having it renewed or anything, they can find yours.

well,anyway,good luck na lang.

they have a new ruling now regarding expired licenses. licenses expired for two years only had to pay the penalty to get a new one. after that you have to take the exam again to have a new license.

DRIVER'S LICENSE *&^$@#%$&!!!

posted Friday, 24 October 2003

dear God, help me extend my patience because it's already wearing thin.

apprently i've been driving with an illegal driver's license all these years. it's like this: i've renewed my license in 2000 somewhere in an obscure Land Transporation Extension Office in Batangas. I never got my hard card and they said that LTO Main Office had not (or will never ever probably) delivered the hard cards.

I had to renew my license because it expired yesterday (after 3 years of waiting for my hard card). to make the long story short, i couldn't renew my license because i never got my hard card. the reason why is because I NEVER HAD RECORDS WITH LTO MAIN OFFICE BEYOND YEAR 2000!. meaning my renewal at that stupid LTO office in Batangas was a fluke or the bastards there are so incompetent that my records there were not forwarded within fucking THREE YEARS! my license was full of extension stamps. and now i'm paying for the incompetence or corruption that government agency has done. i've been at the Main Office for the whole morning trying to sort out the mess with the records section and the computer section. and i still have to get back there this afternoon to see if they can update my records. they said that they couldn't update them because the guy who "renewed" my license three years ago may have run away with the fee i've paid them and never inteded to forward my records with the MAiN Office. MEANING I NEVER HAD A LICENSE IN THE FIRST PLACE THE LAST THREE FUCKING YEARS!

can you believe that?!

then why am in having all these trouble when it's their fault (or their agency's fault)?!

so again i am praying, dear God please let me have another meter of patience. or else am going to riddle them with bullets and God knows what else am going to do.

am going to call GMA so that they can experience again some horrible tongue lashing from her.

you don't need to retake the exam if your license is expired for 2 years only (after three years, you have to take that shitty exam again). you just have to submit an affidavit of loss (you can get it in notary public offices around the LTO main office and be sure to choose an ok-looking office there) and you only pay P80. share ko lang, my hubby recently went to his highschool reunion. it was supposed to be a blast since they were a tightknit batch daw. preparations took at least 6 months. people from the states even went back to pinas. but the party was marred by one person who made show of herself - apparently she broke down upon seeing her first love. she realized that she has never gotten over him (she's engaged to someone else)and tried to drown herself during the event (the reception was near the beach). hehe. anti climactic talaga.

i don't like reunions. probably because of the fact that people are dying to make you feel "i've achieved more than you". i don't see any point in meeting old faces again kung di rin lang naman sila naging significant sa buhay ko nooon.

went to the wake last night. saw the guestbook and read that Arao's aneurism attack fell on his birthday
(while he was just watching tv) and died a few days later.

i have observed that people died or nearly died on their birthdays or the week of their birthday. my grandfather died after his birthday. my father was fighting for his life in the ICU the week of his birthday. my cousin got killed a few days before his birthday. i've encountered a lot of cases like these and it was quite a creepy observation.

so am i going to die already? am i ready to face my Maker?

BUSH IN THE JUNGLE

posted Saturday, 18 October 2003

the cowboy is here. and the country is at his feet. bleeeeeehhhhhkkkkkkk! why are we treating him like some god?

-------------------

been to greenhills for some browsing. wanted to buy those quaint little handbags. and i had to get that shirt with the japanese cartoon character on it. had to control myself or else i'd be bankrupt. still have a huge debt
to pay in my credit card. darn. christmas for me may be bleak. no money and no promise of a christmas bonus.

but i'm lucky compared to other people who really don't have anything for christmas.

my sister art was asking me to go with her to greenhills. told her didn't have the money and i didn't want to go around greenhills salivating. oh well, the trevails of poor people like us.
